Matrox：The Gigacolor applet is only for static images and the viewer is only Photoshop.
We do not have any gigacolor that will work on video images.

刚刚看到Nappe1的发言，也是比较有趣的：

"problem with Stencil buffer was fixed in newer revision that also introduced BGA package, a bit higher clocks and AGP 8x support. (it quietly replaced the old version quite long ago... Not that anyone noticed that. (Murcers aren't counted here. Wink ))"

这里的意思是说，之前Parhelia FAA存在的不能和stencil buffer一起运作的问题已经在AGP 8X的BGA版上得以修正，此外，AGP 8X版本的时钟频率更高了。

目测A、B对比测试的确是看得出10Bit、8Bit视频的区别，P650、P512 那天在场的6、7人都是一致的感觉。

Obviously there is no one expect to use GigaColor Viewer to display 10-bit video because it is designed only for the static images like 16-bit/channel tiff files.

Matrox：
As far as I know there is not video player that will take advantage of 10bit clips.
Not even sure that you can make video using 10-bit colo.
(Please correct me if I am wrong as that would be something to look at )

所以如果沒有前端的"某些東西"配合的話，光 Parhelia 的 Hardware 對影片播放是不會有作用的；
而到底 Matrox 有沒有提供，光看Tech Support man的說法，我想可能不必爭論太多？

順道，先前bull兄提過的&quot

erformance and Quality - Desktop"這個選項的10bit，
在Matrox官方討論區也是有相關問答：

2) when 32 bits setting is on in windows, does it mean i get 1 Billion color on my desktop, or this still are 24bits with 8 bit Alpha channel? Or is this diferent from setting GigaColor on at PD control panel? Or will i need to use both??

3) Will I get some extra quality on (for instance) DVD playback using TV out, provided that the DVD has this color format?

Matrox：
2 - Desktop yes, apps maybe. The app itself will have to support 10bit.
3 - Not unless the dvd player takes advantage of it.
Upto now, they display the video at 24bit.

所以結論是：
要讓視頻得力於10bit，必須
1. 有support 10bit 的 player
2. 有本身就已經是 10bit 的視頻
3. 透過Analog 顯示於CRT or TV-Out，
以上所有條件存在，才能發揮10bit DAC
而前兩者的存在目前是有疑問的。
因為即使最專業的設備都不存在10bit Video / 10bit Player。
除非還有比Digital Betacam(4:2:2 YUV)更專業的設備存在。
另，DVD = YUV 4:2:0。

所以請當時在場的七位出來指正一下，因為連Matrox原廠自己都否認了，
我們需要更有力的證據，來為Parhelia強大的視頻能力澄清。

要在photoshop中使用10bit就要加载 Matrox的一个程序才行.
