Ok guys, I have make some simple research about CPU works on vista. everybody know RAM should has at least 1GB, but how about CPU? Among 3 processors tested. DAMN, i forgot to look on the Index score.
AMD sempron 2800+ (default clock), + 2GB Gskill DDR 500
AMD sempron 2800 @ 2.34GHz + 2GB Gskill DDR 500
Pentium M 1.7GHz, + 1GB + 256MB = 1280MB DDR2 533
Core Duo T2050 1.66GHz. + 1GB DDR2 533
How we test? my friend and me test it by 1 day-using feeling. I knew this kind of measurment of the performance by justice 'feeling' is suck and unprofessional but for us... JUST FOR FUN. We gives the rating for each CPU after 1 day-using feeling. We installed the driver, same applications, same updates, with AERO disabled, same sidebar gadgets, same office 2007, Klite codec 1.63, watching DVD, run the kaspersky 614 final built, Messenger 8.1, webcam + chatting, google earth, skype and google earth. All done with clean install of vista ultimate RTM and without any cracks as just for CPU evaluation.
The best is Core Duo T2050. Although it just has 1.66GHz but it can derive a good performnce. We can conclude vista work VERY HAPPILY on Duo Core or even Quad Core. With single core, your CPU will over tired to process so much background processing.
We overclock the AMD sempron to the max, nothing can feel from it.. still very lagging due to only 256l L2 cache hence it is single core only. Even PM 1.7Ghz with 2MB l2 cache can work par on the ratio of performance. The suck is AMD sempron 2800 with default clock speed. Although it has 2gb ram but AMD cant work corporate with it. It cant fully explode the potential of 2GB DDR 500 performance. |
